General Overview
Warranties vary significantly across different brands and types of equipment. Typically, manufacturers will not cover overtime rates for warranty service.
HVAC Warranty
Most Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment comes with a one-year warranty on parts only. Customers are generally responsible for diagnostic fees, repairs, freight, and any additional parts that may be needed.
Refrigeration & Ice Machine Warranty
Thanks to increased competition, many reach-in refrigeration and ice machines now come with a 3-year warranty that covers both parts and labor. However, there are several important caveats to keep in mind:
- Freight charges for parts are not covered.
- Warranties will not apply if the equipment is not properly maintained or installed incorrectly.
- Coverage is limited to manufacturer defects only.
- If the equipment was not registered by the installer or customer, the purchase invoice may be required to file a warranty claim with the service company.
